Medieval iron ax with a settlement without a mustache and a cap, with a flat head, with a separated neck and chin. As it is an accidental find without context, determining its chronology is problematic. Axes of this type appeared as early as the 10th century and were used continuously until the 15th century. They were used in combat, some examples could also be used by executioners. This type of ax is considered the progenitor of all later axes
