Medieval Mace, Windlass This medieval weapon by Windlass is a design based on flanged maces, which were common in the late Middle Ages. Maces were used by both foot and cavalry troops as war weapons that proved especially effective in fighting plate armour. It is made of steel, has a leather cover on the handle end and has six pointed flanges on the head, which are decorated with crosses. This mace is a decorative weapon and is not battle ready. Please note that this medieval Mace is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector’s or decoration/display piece and is not suited for combat reenactment. Besides its quality as a collectible, it is also perfectly suited as a prop, e.g. to complete your costume.
